1. Tips for Sharing Trip Plans

Saving on Tripsaround is really simple, but following these tips will ensure you have the best possible experience.

Book the activity in person with the other travellers: We recommend completing your transaction ONLY in person (face to face), and locally. Do not do payments for other travellers in advance. You may loose the money if they do not join the plan finally. Keep in mind no third-parties can provide insurance or a guarantee.

Look First: Do your homework and ask for info in local agencies or in web pages. Make sure the Trip plan you are joining is exactly what you are looking for.
Suspicious Behaviour: If a user is acting suspiciously, please report the conversation on Tripsaround.

Scams & Fraud: Be aware of scammers and keep things simple and smart to avoid a bad experience. If you experience fraud, or a scam, please report the conversation with the user on Tripsaround to us and contact your local police department or, if you have not met the person face-to-face.

2. Tips for Publishing

Taking a few moments to make an appealing listing will pay dividends. These tips will help you get people join your plan fast!

A clear brief summary sells well! Use the brief summary to explain the trip plan or activity, ed, Sunset in Tanah Lot Temple, Bali. This brief summary, combined with the Trip Plan type you must also fill, will help other travellers to find faster what they are looking for,

Use the “More information” tab to explain the Trip plan with more detail, ed, “We will leave Ubud at 16.00h and drive for one and half hours. Once in the temple, we will do a small hike for 30 minutes and then see the sunset. After the sunset we will drive back to Ubud. We should be back in the city around 20.00h. The price for one single person is 50USD, if we are two or more, the cost will be 80 (for the complete car), so we can save a lot”.

Above all, be honest and describe the plan as it is. Nobody likes to be disappointed; we’re all here to have a happy match-making experience.
Be smart and intuitive for a great experience! Be aware of scams and fraud. Only complete transactions and bookings face-to-face and in person and locally.

3. Listing a Trip Plan

So you’re stack alone in Borneo and, according to local tourism agencies, it seems that there is nobody willing to share the boat to visit the National Park and see the orangutans. Are you ready to make a last try and see if there is anyone out there that wants to join you and share the trips costs? Here’s how you can publish trip plans you would like to share on Tripsaround:

  • From the Menu, select the “create new trip plan” tab to start.
  • Write a simple but descriptive summary.
  • Select the “Trip plan type” to make queries easier.
  • Write the price of the trip plan for one person.
  • Select the currency (right now, only Euros and USD available, sorry for that).
  • Select the location where the Trip Plan will start (ed. If you are staying in Paris and want to go to visit Versailles and the transportation is included, Paris should be the location to choose).
  • Select the date and time when you would like to do the Trip plan.
  • Select the savings every attendant to the plan would have if you are a minimum of two people. For instance, if the price for 1 person is 50USD and the price for two people is 90USD, you should write here 5USD, because 5USD is the amount you will save if someone joins you to do the plan. This will be showed as a percentage in the Summary of your trip plan. In this case it would be 5USD/50USD = 10% discount.
  • Write a more detailed explanation of the plan if you think it is necessary.
Press the blue button that says, “Publish Trip plan” and
Voila! See also our Tips for Publishing for the best results!
